Paths to Pier 42

Manhattan, NY

Paths to Pier 42 is an annual Pop-Up Park that began in the spring of 2013. DLANDstudio, working with Hester Street Collaborative, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, Lower East Side Ecology Center, Good Old Lower East Side, Two Bridges Neighborhood Council, and Leroy Street Studio, have designed and constructed the park on Pier 42 along the East River.

Artists are invited to collaborate on the site each year. The project team then works with those artists, as well as community members, to activate the site through installations, programming, and performances.

Project Partners: Lower East Side Waterfront Alliance, New York City Department of Parks and Recreation, State Senator Daniel Squadron. In collaboration with Congresswoman Nydia Velasquez.
